Our Congregation Welcomes You!
And now faith, hope and love abide, these three; and the greatest of these is love. 1 Corinthians 13:13

A message from Pastor...

roger3As Advent prepares us for Christ’s birth, Lent prepares us for the glorious act of Christ’s resurrection. Though we hold special events and services during Lent, (Maundy Thursday, egg hunt, and Easter morning sunrise breakfast) it is what each of us does regarding our spiritual life that makes Lent most meaningful.

On Ash Wednesday, the first day of Lent, forty days before Easter not counting Sundays, the Wednesday night kids received the sign of the cross on their foreheads. The sign was done with ash from a piece of burned wood. The practice of placing ashes on one’s forehead symbolizes repentance and remorse. In the Old Testament we often read of those who covered themselves in ash and sackcloth as a means of repentance.

As we walk through Lent, approaching Easter morning, the glorious day of Christ’s overcoming death and the grave, might we be mindful and remorseful of our sins.

Might we wear the sign of the cross on our foreheads being mindful of Christ’s love, forgiveness, and grace.

   In Christ, Pastor Roger
